If you could choose one person to work out with, who would it be and why?
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the Iron Paradise. I love the dude’s energy, his work ethic and the hustle in his workout videos. And he eats his steak with a side of tequila – my kind of feed!
What’s your favorite workout routine?
My favorite? Ah it’s hard to say just one! When I want to feel powerful I’ll hit some bigger lifts on the gym floor or smash out a LES MILLS GRIT™ workout. If I’m feeling like I need to keep it fresh I’ll drop into BODYJAM™. And If I’m in need of some restoration I’ll slide into BODYBALANCE™/BODYFLOW®.
What does a cheat day look like for you?
A Double Beef Cheeseburger with extra pickle, BLAM!
If you had to choose your last meal, what would it be?
Low and slow beef brisket with a side of slaw, a literal bucket of deep-fried karaage chicken and tub of yum yum sauce. And a bottle of 2015 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir.
How do you relax, de-stress and chill out?
I hang out with my girl Anneke and our kids at the beach, sans phone.
If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?
Nothing!
What characteristic do you most admire in other people?
When they are authentic to who they really are.
Name the last book you read, the last movie you watched, and the track you currently have on high rotate.
I am currently reading I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes, holy hecker it’s heart pounding stuff! I recently saw Baby Driver on the plane – what a killer soundtrack! And right now I’m playing Lightning Fire Magic Prayer from N.E.R.D’s latest album No_One Ever Really Dies.
What social media can’t you live without? Do you have any favorite feeds?
Instagram is always great. I follow a couple fitness killers, fashion and music feeds – @hypebeast, @rynosaurusrex, the Les Mills crew and my brother from another mother @vilzkilz. I also love hilarious comedy/meme feeds like @thefatjewish @daquan.
If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?
The power to change any object back to its brand-new state. Do you know how many awesome things get broken and busted over time? Literally everything.
What’s the best non-physical thing about staying in shape?
The mental clarity and the sense of achievement it creates.
Who should play you in the movie based on your life?
Javier Bardem, for the emotional authenticity and gravity he brings to every role.
