Tell us about your fitness career to date…
After studying Fitness, Health and Exercise, I started working as a fitness Instructor and Group Ex Instructor. I progressed through the ranks and latterly worked as a manager for a Leisure Trust where I managed fitness gyms, leisure centres and group fitness. I teach 14 classes a week. In 2012 I was taken on as a rookie on the Les Mill UK Trainer Team. I now work as a National Trainer and Presenter, delivering Initial Module Training and AIM in BODYPUMP™, BODYATTACK™ and LES MILLS GRIT™. I recently left fitness management to work part-time with Les Mills UK as Regional Training Co-ordinator (RTC) for Scotland and have been in post for the last 6 months and LOVE IT!
If you weren’t a fitness instructor, you would be….
Running my own coffee shop or a nursery teacher.

I am a twin.
What’s your ideal day off?
Sun, sand and drink in hand... but let’s be honest, Scotland is always cold so it would have to be jumping in the car with my wee dog Murphy Man and heading down to a place called Lunderston Bay.
What made you become a Les Mills instructor?
I was ‘put on a course’ by the club I worked in. That course was BODYPUMP™. I had no idea what it was, all I knew was that it was lifting weights to music. That was 11 years ago. As soon as the module started I knew it was something I would love and would be quite good at. I loved music and exercise, perfect combo! After I became certified in BODYPUMP™ I then trained in BODYCOMBAT™, BODYATTACK, LES MILLS GRIT, and SPRINT™. Training in a group environment and making people work, sweat and have fun really is the best job in the world. The rewards are priceless.
What’s the highlight of your career?
Presenting at big events is always awesome. You can’t describe the feeling! For me Les Mills Live Manchester BODYATTACK™ 94 – the first session was electric.
