Hi Adam, how has your experience been as an instructor for THE TRIP?
It’s been absolutely amazing! Every single class is a blast – it’s fun, it’s intense, and it’s incredibly rewarding. Seeing people get lost in the experience, pushing their limits, and leaving the room feeling energized and accomplished is just the best feeling ever. And on top of that, I’ve grown so much as an instructor. It’s been a wild and exciting journey!

What initially drew you to become an instructor for THE TRIP, and what has kept you motivated over the years?
I was already a LES MILLS Trainer/Presenter for RPM and LES MILLS SPRINT, so cycling was a huge part of my life. But when I first experienced THE TRIP – wow! It was like stepping into a whole new dimension of training. The visuals, the music, the way it just transports you into another world… I was hooked from the very first class. It wasn’t just cycling anymore; it was an adventure. That feeling, that thrill, is what has kept me motivated. And of course, seeing the excitement and transformation in my participants makes every class worth it!

How do you adapt your teaching style to keep classes engaging and exciting for participants?
Energy is EVERYTHING! I make sure to bring enthusiasm, motivation, and a real sense of connection to every class. I want people to feel like they’re not just in a workout – they’re part of something epic. I also try to read the room and adapt to who’s there. If it’s a group of first-timers, I’ll focus on guiding them through the experience and making them feel comfortable. If it’s a bunch of regulars, I’ll challenge them to push harder, try new things, and really level up. The key is making it feel personal, fun, and a little bit like an adventure every single time!

What kind of feedback do you typically receive from members about THE TRIP?
The most common thing I hear is, “I totally forgot I was working out!” People love how the immersive visuals and music make time fly. I’ve had members say it’s the only cardio they actually enjoy, which is a huge compliment! Others talk about how it’s helped them improve their endurance or how it gives them that extra motivation to push themselves. And of course, there are always those who say, “That was insane – when’s the next class?!”

Can you share any specific success stories or transformations that members have experienced through THE TRIP?
So many! I’ve had people who never thought they’d enjoy cycling become obsessed with it after trying THE TRIP. One member told me they used to struggle with motivation, but now they look forward to every class because it doesn’t feel like a workout – it feels like an experience. Another one went from barely making it through a class to smashing every sprint and hill climb within a few months. Seeing those transformations, both physically and mentally, is the most rewarding part of being an instructor.

How has being an instructor for THE TRIP contributed to your professional growth and development?
It’s taken my coaching to a whole new level! Teaching THE TRIP isn’t just about giving cues – it’s about storytelling, energy, and connection. I’ve learned how to create an atmosphere that pulls people in and keeps them engaged. It’s also challenged me to stay innovative, keep improving my coaching techniques, and always bring my best self to class. And honestly, the confidence and skills I’ve gained from this experience have helped me in so many other areas of my professional life too.

What advice would you give to new instructors who are just starting with THE TRIP?
First of all – enjoy the ride! THE TRIP is something truly special, and the more you embrace it, the more your participants will too. Bring your energy, be yourself, and don’t be afraid to really guide people into the experience. Use your voice, your body language, and your passion to create something unforgettable. If you do that, you’re going to have an incredible journey ahead!

Standing Ovations

The feedback from gym members has been overwhelmingly positive, Anna explains. “THE TRIP receives standing ovations. Many members are amazed when they try it for the first time - it’s a real ‘wow’ experience.”

Keeping members engaged and motivated is crucial, and Anna highlights the importance of skilled instructors. “Our instructors are top-tier professionals with an incredible passion for what they do. Their energy and commitment make a huge difference in keeping members motivated.”

To keep the experience fresh, SATS Stureplan regularly updates class releases and they let their instructors choose their own releases.

A Key Factor in the Group Fitness offering

With an impressive 65,000 participants across 1,750 classes in 2024, THE TRIP accounted for 47% of all group fitness visits at SATS Stureplan.

Anna believes word-of-mouth plays a big role in its success. “Existing members share their experiences with friends and colleagues, which creates organic marketing.”
